Fearless night
HANDSAWAY

The end of the curfew marks the return of public space issues at night.
Who hasn't been afraid to go out alone at night, and so deserted the public space, seeing their right to circulate freely in it denied?
According to one study, in the most extreme cases, 26% of women and gender minorities give up going out alone at night (Source ONDRP 2018).
To highlight this issue and enable women and gender minorities to reclaim public space, the HandsAway association, which fights against sexist and sexual violence, is continuing its fight by launching the Nuit Sans Peur operation.
The concept? Use digital advertising panels already present in the public space, by displaying white screens whose luminosity has been boosted by 20%, to light up the darkest, most frightening streets in western Paris from 9pm to 7am.
